Information Needed!!
With winter near I was in the garage last weekend tunin up the XLT and was thinking about putting fuel injection on. I was wondering if polaris ever made fuel injection on any of the 580 motors. If not is there any other options I could go with to put fuel injection on mine. Thanks serious replies only.

Thanks to my sucessful grass drag experience I won enough money to purchase a another triple cylinder rocket. Hope to have it on the grass by hay days. 1998 spx special with triple pipes and three carburetors. How do you think it will compare to the XLT? Do you think I will need any mods to keep up with the XLT? If so please tell me.
Also going to be going back to school next week so I won't be posting much untill next summer. Hope you all have a good sledding season.

RE: Grass drags?
Wow what a weekend. Pulled out of the grass drags on sunday with a hole blazer full of trophes. Packed right to the top. Took first place in all the stock class from 600 on up to the 1000cc class. Went so good I jumped in the mod class were I totally embrassed them. It was good to meet all of you and the support was much appriecated. Spiecial thanks to Gthunda for the seceret mods and "pink ski skins" they rock.

Grass Drags this weekend!!
I'm gonna be loading up the XLT today and heading to the grass drags so i'm sure to get a good parking spot in the pits. Any last minute advice? Hope to meet some of you at the grass drags. I'm not sure but I think G-Thunda is gonna be my pit man so i'll have him hold up the back so I can clear the XLT's throat. I also want to thank you guys for all your helpful hints over the past few mounths. GOOD LUCK to all the fellow grass dragers. Because I think your gonna need it.

ET gauges?
What is the best brand of ET gauges to install on a XLT 580? What end of the pipe do you mount the probe that reads the temp? How hot can you get a XLT 580 before the motor blows? I was just wonderin because I think my XLT might run a little hotter in the summer during the grass drags and I don't want to risk blowin it up again. My mom will not pay for the parts for me to rebuild it again.

Haydays?
Where are the haydays grass drags located? Is there tech. inspections before you are able to race? Is it best to race with or without your winshield? Is it best to run high octane gas or a low octane in the summer? Will they be watering down the track for extra coolant on the snowmobiles?

Handle Bar Riser?
Do you guys or girls think I need some handle bar risers for grass draggen? If I do need them how high should I go? Some of them really high ones look silly butt maybe there necessary thats why I'm asken.

I couldn't make the water skips but I'm ready to go grass draggin. Anybody from the Brainerd area goin that way? What day should I head out because I don't want to be late? How many classes can I run the XLT in? It will probley dominate the 600 & 700 class but i'm not sure about the 800s.

GThunda I don't think pink ski skins will look all that neat. Do You think you can exchange them for purple? Why are the rest of the people on hear talking so silly. And I don't get why Ratmotor thinks I need a tow rope and this Carrottop guy thinks I need a snorkle for some reason. But the Spuds guy seems to know his stuff because he seems to know what an XLT 580 can do on the water.

Got the motor fixed!!
The XLT is back running on all three cylinders. Putting the finishing touches on it to go to the water skips in Grantsburg. How do you guys and gals think it will do in a stock class? If I can get my mom to bring me that is. Do I need any special gear to run in the water skips? If so can someone make me a list?

Info Needed!
I was doin a test run on the XLT and it suddenly got a bog to it. Pulled the plugs and the middle one was really white. Did a compression test and the middle only had 40 pounds of compression. Is there anything I can do to get the compression up without pulling the motor apart?

Camp was kinda fun but mommy made me go to an all boys camp and I kinda wanted to go to a coed camp if you know what I mean because I am 16 and kinda starten to get interested in girls. But anyways when is the grass drags in princeton or haydays? What class should I run the XLT in?

Ski?
What would be the best ski to put on the XLT for grass drags? My XLT still has the original metal skies but I was wondering if some sort of plastic skis would be better like maybe a Kimpex or some other after market ski.

Track?
Should I have the track a little tighter when grass dragin? Because it seems like it makes a wierd noise now when I crack the throttle on the grass. If so how much tension should I put on the track?

Was wondering if it would be better to take the air box off my XLT & run it with filters on the carbs? If so what is the best brand of air filters to run? Also what should I run for jets for grass draggin? Any good advice would be much appreciated. Thanks serious inquiries only.
